The mission of the Mountain Plains Minority Supplier Development Council is to provide Corporate America and Government entities with greater access to the goods and services of Minority-owned business in order to develop lasting and mutually beneficial relationships

Stan Sena To Our Corporate Members & Certified MBEs:

Thank you to all who attended and participated in the Kick-Off and Town Hall Meetings across our geographic hubs of the Mountain Plains MSDC.  You, as stakeholders shared ideas and engaged in meaningful dialogue about how best the Mountain Plains MSDC can better serve your minority business/supplier development needs. Each of these forums was open to all corporate members and certified MBEs.  Although each event had a slightly different format, collectively they allowed us to gather input from our corporate members and certified MBEs.  Both general and specific feedback included ideas ranging from communication, strategy, networking, training, vision, education, mentoring, value proposition, contracting opportunities, certification, events and programming-to relationship building.

We are now coalescing all these great ideas into workable clusters, prioritizing, and formulating a work plan to be shared with our Board of Directors for their input on March 17th.

In March we will begin to roll out a few initiatives based on your identified priorities.  For example as part of your skills development input we are hosting a corporate roundtable on March 8th to engage a sampling of corporate members to discuss attributes of a world class supplier diversity program.  Should these members find the exercise beneficial, we intend to roll this out across our region.  In response to your request for continued training and access, on Tuesday, March 1st we are hosting KCSourceLink in our Kansas City office to help connect our MBEs with KC’s entrepreneurial network of 240+ resource partners.  On March 3rd we, again, address your continued input for additional opportunities by partnering with Denver Transit Operators to learn how to do business with them and specific contracting opportunities.  We are partnering with a number of our corporate members with the 4th Annual making the Connection in Kansas City on March 9th with many procurement one-on-one opportunities.  These along with the March 11th Contracting Open House with Denver Housing Authority, The American Red Cross Opportunity Workshops in Omaha, Kansas City, and Denver in March, Coffee with Kiewit on March 17th, the Nebraska Corporate Roundtable on March 23rd,  and the Colorado Procurement Expo on March 24th are being presented to you in response to your input.

Keep in mind, these are only a few of the areas and priorities we heard from you.  Stay in touch we intend to communicate further after input from our Board.

Again, we appreciate the participation and engagement of those that attended these events.  We value your continued support of the Mountain Plains MSDC
